When curating, it is important for the programmer to think about the audience and consider what kind of experience the audience will have. Will the audience be a viewer, a participant, somewhere in between? And what role do you take as the programmer- are you a guide, an essayist, a facilitator, a participant? Pay special attention to how you present the curation and in what order you present the elements.

Curate a multi-media experiences. Your curation should contain the following elements:

  • an online (***short***) video
  • an audio element (specify if we should play and continue scrolling or pause and listen)
  • an image
  • some kind of writing (text, excerpts, quotes….be creative)
  • hyperlinks to another other websites etc

You may curate around a theme, a topic, an idea, an aesthetic, a genre, whatever you want…it is up to you, but curate in a way that we, the audience, can tell.

Present the experiences as a blog post on this website and at the end of each experiences write a brief curators statement about your intention (1-2 short paragraphs max) and choices.

Note the curators statement is like a statement of intent where you state your intent and reference specific choices you made to achieve this…walk us through the experience and choices: why you chose the title you did, why you ordered it the way you did, why the caption then the photo then the video…etc…how did this set the tone that you then wanted as we read the poem…details, give us details and why.
